Semester abroad

ERASMUS+

University of Cologne portal on studying abroad

Since March 1, 2018, the Center for International Relations (ZIB) of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities has been responsible for the organization and administration of ERASMUS+ places for students of the Institute of African Studies and Egyptology. Academic advising and the recognition of credits earned abroad will continue to be handled by the Institute of African Studies and Egyptology.

All information about the application process and the procedures before, during, and after the stay can be found on the ZIB website. The regular application deadline is February 1 each year.

You can also apply for a place at most other institutes supervised by the ZIB, even if you are not a student of that subject (exceptions: archaeology, linguistics, Scandinavian studies). However, applicants from the relevant subject area are often given preference. For more information on this and all other questions, please contact the Center for International Relations during office hours Tuesday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

To avoid confusion: there is also the International Office in the SSC, which deals with international partnerships (studying in America, Asia, etc.), summer schools, and Erasmus+ funding across all faculties.

Contact at the institute

Prof. Dr. Alice Mitchell is the specialist advisor for academic issues (advice on planning your study project abroad and agreeing on the content of your learning agreement).
