Regulations for the library of African Studies:
Books can be pre-ordered by e-mail, stating author name, book title and shelf mark (letter/number combination in the KUG next to the location details of "Afrikanistik Bibliothek"), and can be picked up on Tuesdays between 11 und 13 h.
You can pick up or return books in the specified time. Please wear a mouth-and-nose cover (everyday mask) and have your library card or identity card ready for borrowing. In order to be able to trace possible SARS-CoV-2 infections, we have to register all visitors to the institute.
Seminar room I is available as a workplace in the institute. Reservation is required for use.
The loan period (3 weeks) and the reminder fee (2 Euro per week per book) will remain.
The university generally cancels classroom teaching and examinations until further notice. Teaching is usually practiced via digital formats. The research colloquium "Transition" will probably be postponed to the next semester.
Please contact the respective lecturer for information on your events.
Please inform yourself about the current status of the regulations on the information page of the university on the corona virus.
The Institute for African Studies and Egyptology brings together the disciplines of archaeology, cultural anthropology and linguistics. The Institute is the only institute in Germany that offers dual-subject BA, MA and PHD programs in the two subjects.
