The library is closed!

Books that have been pre-ordered by e-mail (stating author name, book title and shelfmark (letter/number combination in the KUG next to the location details of the "African Studies Library") can be picked up at the following times.

(until 1.7.) Tuesday 11-13 h and Thursday 11-13 h
(from 7.7.) Wednesday 12-14 h and Thursday 11-13 h

You can also return the books in the specified time. Please wear always a mouth-and-nose cover (everyday mask) and have your library card or identity card ready for borrowing. In order to be able to trace possible SARS-CoV-2 infections, we have to register all visitors to the institute.

Unfortunately, the workplaces in the Institute are not available until further notice.
The loan period (3 weeks) and the reminder fee (2 Euro per week per book) apply again.

Lending

In the KUG, all media show that they are only reference stock. But this is wrong, most of the books can be borrowed!

Since the books in the institute are distributed in different rooms, it is unfortunately not possible to browse the shelves for books and to view the books independently. Please use USB to research the shelfmark of the particular book you want to view or borrow, and the library staff will retrieve it from the rooms for you.
